    Frequently Asked Questions

    Is there a cancellation fee?

    No

Can I prep my front load washing machine myself?

Front load washers need to have a stabilizer kit when being transported even short distances.  Perhaps you still have this from when the washing machine was originally delivered to you.  Usually its 4-5 bolts that screw in the back of the washer to secure the drum.  If you don’t have these and you would like to do this yourself, we suggest you contact www.repairclinic.com to order the kit for your make/model.

What other extra charges are there?

Valuation transit coverage–usually the base move includes $.60lb per article limited liability coverage. If you want to purchase Depreciated or Full Value Replacement protection, please discuss this with your moving consultant.

3rd party charges–certain items need specialized service. Examples include: certain treadmills/ellipticals, gyms, artwork, marble tops, grandfather clocks, pool tables, mounting/dismounting flat screen TVs, disconnecting surround sounds systems, front load washing machines, trampolines, swing sets, etc.

Storage–if required. Your moving consultant will discuss this with you.

Are packing and unpacking services available?

Yes, we do offer these services at an additional cost. If this is something you are interested in, it is best to let your moving consutlant know in the beginning so that it can be factored into the estimate.

When do I pay for the move?

    Upon delivery

Can I pre-pack my goods and have the crew only load boxes and large furniture?

Yes, you can pre-pack your goods and have our crew load the cartons and large furniture only. Keep in mind that we will not accept the liability on owner packed cartons so we suggest that if you have any owner packed cartons that are sensitive in nature/fragile that you move them yourself

What items need to be packed into cartons?

All loose items need to be packed in cartons. We group these into two categories:

    1) Non-breakable items, include: clothing, shoes, pots and pans, food, towels/linens, books, movies/tapes.

    2) Breakable items, include: mirrors, pictures, lamps, lamp shades, knick knacks, dishes, crystal, china, electronics including flat screen TV’s, artwork, glass table tops, glass shelves. These should all be prepared for transit by putting in cartons; it is not included in the cost of a base move.
